Large but homely pub situated a short walk from the town centre and about 10 minutes from the railway station. Six handpumps dispense mainly beers from Kent and Sussex breweries, such as Kent Brewery and Iron Pier, on an ever-changing basis, plus real ciders from Turners. Local bands perform live most Saturday evenings and also on festival weekends. Check the chalkboard for information about forthcoming music and events. Ample space is available in which to enjoy live music, monthly quizzes or a game of bar billiards. Note the display cabinet featuring every edition of the Good Beer guide since 1974 - something of a collector's item!
