Welcoming village local with a smuggling history, situated just inland from Herne Bay. Parts of the pub date back 400 years. Under new management since January 2024, former landlady of Royal Oak Broad Oak. The comfortable saloon bar has a low ceiling, with birch thatching, hanging hops and wood panelling. The public bar has a pool table and dartboard. The garden has a bat and trap pitch and hanging flower baskets. Currently (10/2025)no real ale is available. Regular buses pass the door.
